We are offering FREE NHS heart checks to patients in Kemnay.
The Scottish Government Health Department has asked GPs to identify people aged 30-60 who have not had blood pressure, BMI or certain blood tests done in the last few years and invite them for these checks.  The aim is to work out your risk of a heart attack or stroke so those who are at medium or high risk can be offered advice or treatment to reduce that risk.  This may be as a telephone call or face to face appointment with a GP.
The NHS often only gets involved in someone's care once they have developed a problem.  We want to do more to screen for heart disease and problems before they cause symptoms, and this set of tests are a way to calculate risk and allow us to treat or give advice on lifestyle changes that may prevent a heart attack or stroke.
If you received a text inviting you for these tests please contact reception to say you have been invited for an 'NHS heart check' and they will book you in with our nurse initially.  Following this you may be invited to speak to or see a GP depending on your heart risk.  These places are limited in number and time so please do not delay and call quickly.
